Introduction
The Golden Tea Cup is an Online Painting Showcase organized by Minicha Studios in 2024. The Categories for each year will be rotated to encourage hobbyists to participate in different aspects of the hobby.
Rules

All Participants are only allowed 1 entry per category.
- All entries to be submitted by 31st Match 2024.
- Entry is free.
- Entries submitted to other competitions are allowed.
- All judgement by designated judges is Final.
- All entries must be the participant’s own work/works.
- Creativity is encouraged.
- Organizers reserve the right to modify event rules up to 2 weeks before submission date..
Judging Criteria
Judges will remain anonymous (Unless they want to be known) and will provide scoring and feedback if needed.
To ensure the greatest possible objectivity and systematize the work of the judging panels, they will be guided by the following criteria:
- Technique (workmanship, neatness, finishing of the model, construction of the stand/plinth/scene),
- Artistic value (color composition, use of light, eye-catching points, textures, etc.),
- Message (idea, atmosphere, story contained in the model).
Category 1: Pop Culture
- All Non-Mecha Model Kits are allowed. This is usually defined as kits that have articulation. (Articulated means moveable parts)
- Max size: 40cm x 40cm x 40cm
- ALLOWED: Bandai Figure Rise kits like Ultraman, Kamen Rider, Dragon Ball and Star wars.
- Kotobukiya Kits like Megami Device, Hexagear Governors are allowed.
- NOT ALLOWED: Gundam, Evangelion(Yes technically they are organic beings but we have chosen to not allow), Mechatro, etc.
- We recommend Animecha for your Model kits purchases.
Category 2: Bust
- All busts are allowed. This is usually defined as kits that have NO articulated parts and NO lower half of the body(Legs)
- All Scifi, Fantasy and Modern Busts are allowed.
- 3D Printed Busts are allowed but it is encouraged to buy from Local hobby shops.
- We recommend Hammerhouse and M workshop for your bust purchases.
Online Submission:
- A submission form will be provided for contestants to apply to .
- Participants are required to submit photos from multiple angles. All judgement will be rendered via photos provided by contestants.
- As the filesize of photos can be huge, participants are encouraged to use Google drive to share photos upon submission.
- Automatic disqualification will occur if failure to adhere to any the submission criteria at the discretion of the organizer.
- Minicha Studios also reserve the right to use your photos for future golden tea cup promotional purposes.
Physical Hobby Showcase and Networking:
- All participants are encouraged to attend our physical gathering in April to meet fellow participants.
- Free Food and Drinks will be provided.
- There will also be a photo area for participants to take photos of their completed works.
- Participants are strongly encouraged to bring down their pieces.

Toxicity Rule
We are all here to have fun and share in the mutual love of our hobby. It is okay to be a little competitive but we will not tolerate Hate speech, encouragement of toxic behaviors targeted at any individual or threats.
Any participant behavior deemed toxic before and after the event will result in disqualification from past and future events at the discretion of the organizer.
